REVIEW OF THE 2009 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
The 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a great choice for families who want to vacation in the mountains or just do some off roading. It has great off road capabilities. The interior offers windshield posts that are relatively that provide excellent outward vision, plenty of seat adjustment, and it is enveloping and comfortable, and light. The 2009 Grand Cherokee Laredo’s 4 wheel drive is called the Quadra Trac I and is standard. Optional with either engine is the Quadra Drive II full time active 4 wheel drive system. The Quadra Drive II system provides rear, center, and front limited slip differentials, a special axle ratio, hill descent and ascent control, and low range gearing. Also standard are front tow hooks and skid plates. A 4.7 liter V8 engine is optional on the 2009 Grand Cherokee Laredo. The Quadra Trac II system and low range gearing comes when this engine is selected with AWD. Also optional is the V6 3.0 liter turbo-diesel engine.
The 2009 Grand Cherokee Limited comes standard the Quadra Trac II system with low range gearing, hill descent control, hill start assist control, limited four wheel drive, a wireless cell phone link provided by Uconnect, a navigation map information system, a 30GB hard drive to store picture and music files, an iPod adapter, a 6.5” touch screen, A GPS with real time traffic and voice recognition provided by UConnect, a Uconnect phone, a 115 volt power outlet, remote engine starting, fog lamps, a tire monitor that displays the individual tire status, a universal garage door opener, automatically dimming rearview and exterior mirrors, automatic rain sensing windshield wipers, a memory function for the mirrors, pedals, and seats, a steering wheel that is wrapped in leather, a power passenger seat that id four way adjustable, power adjustable pedals, a 276 watt AM/FM/CD stereo with MP3 capability and six speakers, a sunroof, automatic climate control, rear obstacle detection, heated first and second row seats, and leather upholstery. Optional is the Quadra Drive II system.
Optional on the 2 and 4 wheel drive 2009 Grand Cherokee is the V6 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine, the V8 HEMI 5.5 liter engine, and the V8 4.7 liter engine. Auto leveling high intensity discharge headlights, a Class II and IV trailer hitches, 18: chrome wheels, a Sirius Back Seat television and a rear DVD entertainment system are all optional. The Sirius Back Seat television includes the Nickelodeon, Disney, and Cartoon network channels.
The 2009 Grand Cherokee Overland comes standard with platinum accents on the exterior, P245/50R18 tires on 18: chromed aluminum wheels, a Class IV trailer hitch, auto leveling, high intensity discharge headlights, an armrest and console that are covered with leather, ultra suede and two toned leather seats that are embroidered with the Overland logo, a console and doors that have accents from real wood, a leather and wood steering wheel, and the V8 5.7 liter HEMI engine. The four wheel drive version of the Overland includes the Quadra Drive II system. Optional on the 2 and 4 wheel drive id s the V6 3.0 liter diesel engine.
The 2009 Grand Cherokee SRT8 comes standard with automatic headlights, automatically dimming exterior and rearview mirrors, a universal garage door opener, a six disc CD changer, a steering wheel that is wrapped in leather, a power front passenger seat that is four way adjustable, special trim, suede and leather sport seats, Laredo trim, 20” wheels with distinctive bumper emblems, P285/40R20 rear tires and P244/45R20 front tires that have run flat capability, an electronic all wheel drive system, performance brakes, lowered suspension, and a V8 6.1 liter HEMI engine that produces 420 hp. Additional options can bring an SRT8 almost up to the Overland level of convenience and comfort.
The safety features that come standard on all models include a tire pressure monitor, four wheel anti lock disc brakes with brake assist, roll mitigation with an electronic stability system, traction control, latch type car seat anchors on the rear seats, side curtain air bags with rollover protection, and four levels of deployment on the front air bags. Trailer sway control, hill start assist, hill descent assist, a rear backup camera, and rear obstacle detection are all optional.
